Microsoft Hints at Surface Mini's May Debut in New Invitation

It looks like Microsoft may be unveiling its long-rumored Surface Mini later this month.

The company sent invitations for a "small gathering," which will be hosted by Microsoft's Surface team in New York, to Mashable and other media outlets Monday.

While it's not yet confirmed exactly what will be revealed at the May 20, event, Microsoft has been rumored to be working on a smaller tablet for over a year, with speculation ramping up in recent weeks.

Reported photos of Surface Mini cases were posted on Amazon last month by a wholesaler, according to ZDNet. The date of availability was listed as May 18.
