Microsoft Surface Skewers iPad Mini in Parody Ad

We love the most recent ad for Apple's iPad mini. The big piano/little piano motif gets across exactly the point the product without using any words at all.

But we may love this parody ad for Microsoft Surface even more. Similar to the Apple commercial, it definitely hammers -- or should we say slices -- home the idea that the Surface is a tablet that is a tougher, more versatile and more powerful than the iPad.

Microsoft would, of course, never use such violent imagery to promote one of its products (outside of Halo, anyway), especially since it's trying to make Surface appealing to a very broad audience. But to those of us who see the tablet market as a neverending battle between companies, platforms and form factors, the ad couldn't be more apt.

The ad is the brainchild of Forest Gibson at Cinesaurus, which produced the video.
