Microsoft Slams iPad in Ad After Reporting Weak Surface RT Sales

"Oh no, here we go again."

Those words from Siri kick off Microsoft's latest ad attempt to bash the iPad and promote the Surface RT tablet. This time, Microsoft focuses on the built-in kickstand and USB port that come with the Surface, as well as its keyboard case.

The ad comes at a difficult time for Microsoft. On Thursday, the company revealed that it had taken a $900 million charge related to weaker-than-expected sales of its Surface RT tablets, suggesting its marketing efforts have yet to lead to any notable sales boost.

Microsoft released several ads in recent weeks criticizing the iPad, including one in May that bashed its absence of PowerPoint. Another ad earlier this month implied the Surface is a better tablet for multitasking baseball scouts.

Earlier this week, Microsoft cut the price of the Surface RT from $499 to $350 in an effort to be more competitive in the market.
