Microsoft Surface Pro Flunks Teardown Test

The folks at iFixit have torn down Microsoft's powerful tablet, the Surface Pro, revealing a device that's very hard to repair -- if you try to do it yourself.

The highlights from iFixit's ordeal include over 90 screws (yes, ninety) they had to unscrew to tear the Surface Pro open, a display that's "extremely difficult" to remove and "tons of adhesive" holding everything in place.

On top of that, iFixit claims that unless you open the device "100% correctly," you'll likely damage one of the cables surrounding the display.

All in all, owners of Surface Pro would probably do well not to try to repair the device under any circumstances.
