Mike Francesa, for the uninitiated, is a force in the totally-still-a-thing world of sports talk radio. His strong voice and stronger opinions have made him a notorious figure among fans over the past several years. He's 61 years old, loves his sports, most likely scorns selfies and is very much from the New York old school.

In other words, Francesa is probably a lot like your dad, or perhaps a crotchety old uncle. That's what makes his Monday effort to explain emoji to a befuddled caller so brilliant.

Francesa stammers and stutters a fair amount, but the craziest part of this magical expository moment? In his own special way, he kind of nails it. Watch the video, above, for the full minute-long monologue (the caller mentioning Chevrolet is referencing an unidentified ad). Here's the money quote:

It's a little thing on your, uh, computer. You know the little guy ... Like, if you get somebody sends you a message -- do you have a text message? ... When someone sends you like a thumbs-up or something like that? You know how when someone does that? That's an emoji.

*Insert infinite sequence of "100" emojis*

*End scene.*

*Fade to black.*
