During an interview on Wednesday, former boxer Mike Tyson got very angry (not ear-biting angry, but still) at a comment made by Canadian network CP24's anchor Nathan Downer.
Tyson, who is currently in Canada promoting his one-man show, met with Mayor of Toronto Rob Ford, who also has a checkered past, on Tuesday. Tyson endorsed Ford for re-election.
Downer questioned the endorsement, asking Tyson if his 1992 rape conviction would actually harm, instead of help, Ford's campaign. Side note: Really? Is it possible Ford's campaign can be further tarnished?
Tyson quickly jabbed back at the reporter:
Hey, I don’t know who said that. You’re the only one I’ve heard say that....I don’t have no comment to that, you know, because it’s negative and you’re being negative. And I met the mayor. There’s nothing they can do about it," he said. "It's so interesting that you come across as a nice guy, but you’re really a piece of shit with that comment.... Fuck you. That was a piece of shit comment.
Well that got awkward fast.
But Downer smoothly shifted topics. He later tweeted that he felt no animosity toward Tyson for the jabs.
No ill will toward Mike Tyson. He lashed out at me and that's okay. Not taking it personally pic.twitter.com/e27mfrOagJ— nathan downer (@nathandowner1) September 10, 2014
