Miley Cyrus, Joan Jett and Laura Jane Grace have joined up for a moving cover of the Replacements' "Androgynous" to support homeless LGBT youth.
Laura Jane Grace, the lead singer of punk band Against Me!, came out as a transgender woman in 2012. Her most recent album, Gender Dysphoria Blues, details her struggle with gender identity.
In the video, the trio smiles while singing, "She's happy with the way she looks, she's happy with her gender." Their grins are infectious.

The cover was filmed to promote Cyrus' Happy Hippie Foundation, which has a mission of rallying young people to "fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations," according to its website. The foundation states that 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBT and nearly one-third of transgender people have been turned away from shelters. It says that donated money will be distributed to organizations that provide support for homeless and LGBT youth, including medical and legal support.
Cyrus promises more Backyard Sessions will come Friday on her Facebook page, which may include footage of Cyrus playing Tibetan bowls for her pigs and Joan Jett at sunset.
