Miley Cyrus will host the VMAs on Sunday night, and it's best that we start preparing ourselves now -- because according to Cyrus, MTV is giving her free rein.

Cyrus has already caused controversy by criticizing the way Nicki Minaj responded to the VMA nominations, saying in an interview with The New York Times that the rapper's comments were-self involved rather than a productive way to address the music industry's structural racism.

"What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite," Cyrus told The Times. "I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love."
