Minecraft, meet Mario. Mario, meet Minecraft. Together, you become... Mariocraft.

An upcoming, completely free update for the Wii U version of Minecraft takes a trip to the Mushroom Kingdom. The update adds new skins to the game, as well as a Super Mario-themed world, music and new items to build with.

There are 40 skins in all, covering all the major characters you can think of: Mario and Luigi, Princess Peach, Wario, Bowser and all seven of his Koopaling cronies.

The update also adds 15 pieces of music from Super Mario 64 and updated textures, allowing players to build blocky Mushroom Kingdom landscapes on their own.

The Wii U version of Minecraft has been available in the eShop since December, but it's coming to disc on June 17. That release will include the "Super Mario Mash-Up Pack" pre-loaded onto the disc.
