Mitt Romney Joins 2012 Race With YouTube Video

Mitt Romney has thrown his hat in the ring with a YouTube video announcing the formation of an exploratory committee for a 2012 presidential bid.

In the 150-second video, Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, contrasts his business experience -- he once served as the CEO of Bain & Co. -- with Barack Obama’s. “President Obama’s policies have failed,” says Romney. “He and the people around him have never worked in the real economy. They just don’t know how jobs are created in the private sector.”

Romney posted the video on YouTube and on his website, Monday, a week after Obama’s campaign launched with a YouTube video. After Obama's announcement, Romney also issued a retort via his Twitter account: “@barackobama I look forward to hearing details on your jobs plan, as are 14m unemployed Americans.”

Meanwhile, Tim Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor and a likely GOP candidate, responded to Obama’s announcement with his own YouTube video.
