MixerCast has two major announcements today, one being that of its Series B round of funding, and the other being for its latest plans for a widget package that takes on the online advertising market.
The company's latest round of funding totals $6 million, led by Intel Capital with participating investors ONSET Ventures and returning investor Velocity Interactive Group also taking part. MixerCast recently called down $4.25 million of a $5.57 million of this Series B round just over a month ago, and had a round of funding last summer for an additional $2.6 million that the company now has to take advantage of.
The upcoming widget advertising package, called the MCast Suite, will do much of the same things that other widget ad networks now do, but MixerCast is taking a broader, more integrated approach and supporting content from other widget networks, including Clearspring, RockYou and Slide, wrapping it all up into a single application that can be embedded all over the web.
