Online media marketplace Mochila started out with a feed widget that could be placed on a web publisher's site, populated with quality content that's been made available through a series of affiliate programs. Customizing these feeds was easy enough for the publishers: pick the content creators and topics that are relevant to your needs, and post it on your site.
Now, Mochila is offering even more customization options by introducing an open standards RSS Atom API, allowing publishers to automatically connect their content management and web publishing systems to access Mochila's quality content. This lets publishers customize real-time feeds with an XML-based API, letting them pull content based on keywords, categories, bylines, sources, and a slew of other parameters. Farlex, the parent company of TheFreeLibrary, is among the first publishers to take advantage of the Mochila API with the new options.
