Androgyny is the new black.

It is hard to take your eyes off of 18-year-old model Roan Louch. From his long brown tresses to his unique bone structure, Louch is helping to introduce a new type of model: One who embraces gender fluidity.

There are numerous designers who are challenging gender roles in the fashion industry, as seen in London Fashion Week, where male models donned corsets and sequins.

The lesson: we are in a moment in fashion where gender specific clothing is out and androgyny is in. It has become acceptable for men to wear women's clothing and vice versa.

You might not recognize him, but Roan Louch, represented by Re:Quest Model Management, has had his fair share of modeling gigs. He's walked the runway this past September in a bright pink suit for Hood By Air and in this June’s Gucci Resort show. He, more recently, became the new face of John Galliano’s new collection for Maison Margiela.

Louch captures a unique moment in the history of both culture and fashion. On June 1, Caitlyn Jenner introduced herself on the cover of Vanity Fair for the first time, causing conversations about what it means to be transgender. Miley Cyrus announced in Paper Magazine that she doesn’t relate to being a girl or a boy. More recently, an obsession with Ruby Rose, who also say’s she doesn’t identify as either gender, grew with the season 3 premiere of Orange Is the New Black.

With the slowly eroding line between genders, we have a feeling that designers will continue to challenge traditional social gender roles all throughout the first ever Men's Fashion Week this upcoming July.
