Among the highlights Tuesday night at the Victoria's Secret runway show-- including Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner's debuts and every other angel sporting looks inspired by Britney Spears-- was model Maria Borges' beauty moment. The Angolan supermodel proudly rocked her short natural hair sans extensions.
It was a high point for not only her, but for the entire fashion show in general, which has traditionally utilized models with long, luscious locks. More importantly, it signaled a changing attitude at the Ohio-based lingerie brand, which seems to be deeming other looks sexy, too.

The 23-year old model sported a colorful feathered bra in a Swarovski crystal-encrusted turquoise lingerie ensemble for one of her first look before changing into a white ensemble with beaded fringe.
“I told my agent I wanted to walk in the Victoria’s Secret show with my natural hair,” Borges said to Essence. “I was nervous, but I had to do it. When they said ‘Yes’ I didn’t expect it, but I was so happy!”
Later, in an Instagram post, she relayed her enthusiasm.
"Tomorrow, this Angolan-born dreamer will be walking her 3rd #VSFS in a row whilst rocking her Afro natural hair," she wrote. "All I can say is THANK YOU, I don't take it for granted!"
