Super Mario Bros. Gets Killer Modern Revamp

Super Mario's month-long winning streak of creativity continues.

First, artist Chris Carlson turned the mushroom-crushing plumber into stunning 3D chalk art. Then, his treacherous journey through Mushroom Kingdom was recreated with food. Now, Mario is back -- this time with a modern flair.

YouTube channel Deloix created a clip that modernized the legendary Super Mario Bros. video game while maintaining its classic feel. In this new installment, the camera pans and zooms depending on Mario's action, and the graphics are more pristine.

The sound has also undergone a change as every step and explosion has been amplified. Avid gamers should also be pleasantly surprised by the Quake grenade launcher sounds effects that happen when Mario throws fireballs.

Unfortunately, the game is not available to actually play.

What do you think of the new and improved Mario? Let us know in the comments below.
