The best gift a parent can give is love and support.

Gabrielle Diana, 16, regularly entertains her YouTube viewers with music videos and beauty blogs that incorporate her experience as a transgender teen. But she wouldn't be where she is without encouragement from her mom, Rose Gladu.

Surrounded by her family earlier this week, Gladu broke the news that -- after months of waiting -- Gabrielle's name change had been legalized. And she did it in the sweetest way possible: with a cake.

"The moment was a confirmation that my transition mattered to my family, and they were more than happy to let me live as my true identity... I hope when people see this video, they see the importance of names and pronouns," Gabrielle, of Ottawa, Ontario, told BuzzFeed.

My mom has supported me since the start of my life, my transition, and she supports my future She encourages me to make great music, excel at my education, and pursue my dream of studying Fashion So many of us are so lucky to have supportive parents, so let's really be thankful and do small things that can brighten their days #InstaPride A photo posted by @gabrielledianaa on Jun 10, 2015 at 6:31pm PDT
