This is not a professional photograph of Morgan Freeman. It's a drawing by 18-year-old artist Jack Ede.

Ede posts step-by-step updates of his portrait work on Instagram. The latest is a hyperrealistic sketch of Morgan Freeman. Ede says that he chooses his subjects based on high-resolution photographs, so he was thrilled when he came across one of Freeman where he could examine every detail, down to the actor's pores. (For what it's worth, this is not the first hyperrealistic Morgan Freeman portrait we've seen.)

Check out the progress of the portrait below, and in the background, imagine Freeman's voice narrating a documentary about a young artist's life.
