LONDON -- Morrissey's year has basically gone like this: Morrissey writes bad sex scene. Morrissey wins award for bad sex scene. Morrissey will henceforth and forever be associated with bad sex scene.

The "bulbous salutation" that occurred in Morrissey's debut novel List of the Lost might have won the singer an award -- but, in responding to the accolade, it's pretty clear that he's feeling less than enthusiastic about the whole situation.

“I have many enemies and their biggest motivation, as you know, is to try to use all your achievements against you” Morrissey told Uruguayan newspaper El Observador, as translated by The Guardian.

Continuing, Morrissey explains that it's “best to maintain an indifferent distance” from his Bad Sex in Fiction award, “because there are too many good things in life to let these repulsive horrors pull you down.”

Well, we know one "repulsive horror" we'll be keeping a distance from.
