Mortal Kombat X is pulling no punches.

The launch trailer for the next entry to the series, out next week, shows every crunchy hit, every excruciating stab and even some stuff we can't unsee. The whole medley of pain is set to early-aughts metal gem "Toxicity" by System of a Down.

The trailer is mostly composed of scenes from the game's long story mode, which takes place 25 years after 2011's Mortal Kombat 9, with some shots of actual gameplay mixed in. Fans will recognize many familiar faces, but also see shots of new blood added to this title.

Mortal Kombat X is out April 14 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3.
