Amazon Prime's most-streamed shows aren't what you'd expect

On the surface, Downton Abbey, The Wire, and Dora the Explorer don't have a lot in common, but they do share one quality: being among the most-streamed programs on Prime Instant Video.

The full list of the service's most popular programs, provided by Amazon exclusively to Mashable, comes on the heels of the company celebrating the 4th anniversary of Prime Instant Video.

What's most striking about the list itself -- which names 18 programs in all -- is the utter lack of theme. There's current programs (The Good Wife and Justified), sci-fi favorites (Stargate SG-1 and Fringe), acclaimed long-gone programs (the Sopranos and The Wire), and quite a few kids shows.

If we had to infer something from this list, though, it'd probably be that Amazon users have very good taste.
