Mother With Alzheimer's Recognizes Daughter for a Beautiful Moment

Kelly Gunderson got a brief -- but wonderful -- surprise after her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, recognized her for a few seconds.

Gunderson captured her 87-year-old mother's unlikely moment of clarity while lying in bed. After recognizing that only a beloved family member would curl up in bed with her, her mother calls Gunderson by name and tells her she loves her.

This short, sweet clip shows an emotional moment between Gunderson and her mother, and offers a bit of hope to families who've seen the effects of Alzheimer's first hand in their own loved ones.
