Other Android Wear devices might be shipping now, but the Moto 360 is the model getting all the buzz.

Motorola released a new teaser showing off some of the design elements of the smartwatch, which is expected to ship later this summer, to its YouTube channel on Wednesday.

"We were very inspired by watches," said Lior Ron, product lead for the Moto 360. He goes on to explain some of the rationale behind the Moto 360, including its eye-popping round shape.

As Motorola discussed before, a key advantage of having a round screen -- over, say, a square display -- is that more information is visible in a smaller surface area.

We would argue that aesthetically, the round face also makes the Moto 360 really stand out in the sea of smartwatches.
