Motorola Mocks Antennagate with Full-Page Ad

Samsung isn't the only phone maker using the whole antennagate brouhaha to its advantage, Motorola ran an ad in today's New York Times for its Droid X device complete with the slogan, "No Jacket Required."

In the copy for the ad, Motorola takes a slightly passive-aggressive swipe at Apple, noting, "it's just one of those things that comes as a given when you've been making mobile phones for over 30 years."

Ouch! This is the ad:

The ad doesn't address Apple's most recent video, which actually shows the signal on a Droid X dropping based on how the device is gripped (though perhaps it was posted in anticipation of Motorola's advertisement).

What do you think of the way other cellphone makers are using antennagate in their own advertisements? Do you find these ads persuasive?
