Images of a mountain lion killed in southeastern Idaho on December 30 has confounded viewers, due to an odd deformity.

The cat, it seems, has several teeth and small whiskers growing out of its head.

According to the Idaho State Journal, the mountain lion attacked a dog belonging to a landowner in the area, who subsequently tracked and kill it. The killing was legal.

According to the Idaho Fish and Game, the odd deformity could be the remnants of a conjoined twin that died in the womb, or a teratoma tumor.
