The Movember Mustache Manifesto [INFOGRAPHIC]

All hail Movember!

Unfamiliar with the term? Movember has quickly grown into one of the most successful men's health charities since its inception in 2004. The premise is simple: Cultivate fantastic -- or filthy, depending on your opinion of mustaches -- upper lip hair for the month of November to raise awareness and money for men's health causes, particularly prostate and testicular cancer.

The Movember movement is largely based online, with a number of apps, viral videos and other digital initiatives playing a central role in building mustache momentum. But before you get to nurturing that fu manchu, handlebar or chevron this month, it's important to do a bit of research. The infographic below, which comes by way of the website hairlossgeeks.com, serves as a nice Movember primer.

"Kissing a man without a mustache is like eating an egg without salt," says a variation of a quote widely attributed to writer Rudyard Kipling. Just what type of mustache fits you best, however, is a tricky science.

The "Dali" and "horsehoe" are among the most recommended variations for long, thin faces like mine. If you've got a square face, consider rocking the powerful "walrus" or "imperial" variations. And if you were blessed with a round, cherubic mug, refined "English" and "pencil" styles are likely among your best options.

Check out the full infographic below for more tips, then let us know in the comments -- what type of 'stache will you or your significant other sport this Movember?
