These candid pictures of New York cinema audiences were taken by photographer Arthur Fellig, fondly known as "Weegee," using an infrared camera.In the 1940s Weegee used an infrared camera to photograph patrons in the low light of a movie theater. Children are spellbound or scared; others collapse in laughter. Some people aren't watching the film at all...While we don't know which movies elicited such behavior, many notable films were screened in the early 1940s, including Pinocchio (1940), Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe (1940), Citizen Kane (1941) and Casablanca (1942).The pictures capture people sleeping...
