While it's true that there are no shortage of techies on TV, viewers have yet to see anything quite like Mr. Robot, a drama coming to USA Network this summer.

On the show, Rami Malek (24) plays Elliot, a young programmer whose day job as a cyber-security engineer has him stuck behind a desk defending horrible corporations. During his off-the-block hours, however, Elliot is a vigilante hacker.

This character -- who is not the titular Mr. Robot -- is the subject of the following promo, which you're seeing first exclusively on Mashable. But that's only half of the story.

The other half involves Christian Slater, who is Mr. Robot.

He's the head of a hacker group who wants Elliot to join the gang because they need all the help they can get for a big project.

To be clear, this isn't a procedural. The series, which won the audience award at South by Southwest (SXSW) last month, will not follow the gang's wacky adventures or see them take down a bespectacled bad guy with a keyboard every week. Rather, it's serialized -- much like Dig, USA's most recent effort to break the week-by-week mold.

Mr. Robot premieres on USA on June 24.
