This post is part of Mashable's Spark of Genius series, which highlights a unique feature of startups. If you would like to have your startup considered for inclusion, please see the details here. The series is made possible by Microsoft BizSpark.
Quick Pitch: Mugasha makes it really easy to listen to electronic music sets from world famous DJs. Like Hulu.com for dance music.
Genius Idea: Music. Gather. Share. That's Mugasha's tag-line and it is a pretty apt description of what the service does. With or without an account you can browse through tons of music sets from DJs from around the world. You can then share tracks or sets with your friends on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc.
You can easily browse for tracks by set, artist or track name or just use the search function. Sets are usually podcasts or radio shows broadcast from live events. If the set is part on an ongoing series, you can subscribe to it and have the ability to listen to new material as soon as it is released.
The interface and design of Mugasha is really a cut above. Not only does the streaming player work very well in multiple browsers (I checked!), the site is just lovely to look at and interact with. Clicking on an artist name opens up a new window (no interrupting of your music), as does sharing music with friends. Everything is clean and fast-loading, which is always important for a music site.
You can login with your Facebook account and you have the option of sharing what tracks or sets you like on your wall (or not). You don't need an account to enjoy Mugasha, but if you have one, you can look back on your play history, tracks or sets you like, and subscribe to future sets.
Mugasha is completely free and completely legal -- and for dance music fans, completely cool.
