The 1:58 mark in the Mumford & Sons' track "Believe" marks something of a new era for the band. It sounds like the electric coming-out party for the folk rock group's new non-acoustic vibe, with its soaring guitar and pounding drums.

The band debuted the song Monday, offering a glimpse into Mumford & Sons' upcoming third album. It represents the group's first attempt at ditching its signature sound for a formula that favors electric guitars, synthesizers and a full drum kit.

The musicians, better known for more acoustic romps like "I Will Wait," will unleash their Wilder Mind album on May 4. The band previously teased its new direction on Facebook:

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));Post by Mumford and Sons.
