Musestorm, the Israel-based widget syndication service, has received $1 million in funding from Elron Electronic Industries.

As part of the investment funding, Elron Electronic will also gain 23% ownership of Musestorm. While Musestorm offers a suite of solutions, it's best known for its analytics tools and widget-tracking services. It provides its services for both traditional and new media, including Pageflakes, and more recently, the Washington Post/Newsweek Blogroll Service. Its tools and widgets that work across platforms makes it an option for those who would want to centralize a good amount of their metrics for widgets and feeds, and other analytics tools. Elron Electronics, a defense electronics and information technologies company, has created a leading investment fund in Israel.

In other widget news, Forbes has chosen Widgetbox for the distribution of its series of widget channels.
