Israel-based MuseStorm is yet another new service that helps you create blog widgets from RSS feeds, YouTube videos, Flickr photos, Technorati blog searches, eBay auctions and more. You can choose from a range of layouts and color schemes, and widgets are inserted in your blog by cutting and pasting a piece of javascript - presumably this rules out MySpace, which won't allow you to post javascript to your profile page. They provide instructions for use with Tagworld, Blogger and Wordpress blogs, but the widgets will work wherever javascript is permitted. MuseStorm also provides an API that would allow developers to create their own Netvibes-style ajax homepages.

It's a neat little tool, but it seems underbaked. I'm not crazy about the widget designs, and there are already plenty of tools for creating blog widgets from feeds (FeedoStyle, for instance). Admittedly, sites like YouTube don't allow you to create tag-based widgets, but that's not really a great differentiator. I don't see this one taking off.
