MyDesignIn, which is launching at DEMO, is a social service for those remodeling their homes - a niche that hasn't really been targeted by the 2.0 crowd yet. It's based around social bookmarking: find beds, baths, sinks and more as you browse around the web and hit the bookmarklet to post them to your account. You can also copy bookmarks from other users, add comments, rate items and find the most popular and most recent additions.

This is the kind of thing that can be done with Wists, StyleHive and the DIY design site Curbly, but MyDesignIn adds another element: a Flash application that lets you draw a room layout - adding walls, stairs, windows and appliances - save it, and share it with others.

It isn't the easiest tool to use, but I like the concept. If I had to call this one on success or failure, I'd choose the latter - there's just no "wow" factor here. But perhaps the founders know how to attract the DIY design community.
