MyNuMo is a marketplace for user-generated mobile content - ringtones, wallpaper and videos. It's a neat idea and they seem to be on the right track. From the site:

MyNuMo is an online community that enables it's members to create, show, and sell mobile content. We provide tools for the creation and publication of mobile ringtones, wallpapers, and videos. Members turn their creativity into cash by uploading their creations and/or using our free tools to build ringtones, wallpapers, and mobile videos.

This is smart for a number of reasons. First, it seems that we'll eventually figure out how to pay users for valuable content - while revenue sharing isn't always a perfect fit, it's the ideal model when a sale is taking place. SpyMedia, Fotolia, Cafepress, Lulu, Blish, Blogburst and SLBoutique are all pursuing the marketplace concept. (However, I suspect the supply is much greater than the demand. Can any of the founders comment on this?) Second, consumers are used to paying for mobile content - it's ironic that the ringtone often costs more than the entire MP3. Third, they're making the service more accessible by adding the charges to your phone bill rather than your credit card - this is essential if you want to snag the youth demographic.

Wisely, MyNuMo is feeding the MySpace beast - at the end of May, they launched Flash-based widgets to embed in your profile page. Just last last month I advised YourSpins to put "Buy Now" buttons on their widgets - MyNuMo is doing exactly that. They're also doing some Branding 2.0 work - creating a MySpace page for the company and making friends with MySpace users. Additionally, every user has his own MyNuMo page where he can pimp his 'tones - these pages are highly customizable, as you can see from this example. All in all, a really nice effort.
