Mypictr is a neat new tool for creating a profile photo for a range of social networks. Most networks have different size requirements, and you normally have to do a lot of tweaking to make your images fit. With Mypictr, however, you just upload a photo, resize it using the ajaxy editor and select which social site you'd like to create a photo for - Digg, Last.fm, Facebook and YouTube are among the popular choices. The service will then set the selection box to the appropriate size for that site. Once you're happy with the avatar, you can download it or have it emailed to you. Perhaps the next step would be to enable automatic posting of a photo, just as the MySpace layouts folks provide automatic posting of a design when you enter your password.

Although only a few days old, Mypictr has already served 3179 pictures. They've chosen a terrible name, but the service itself is good. Other web-based photo editors include Picture2Life, PXN8 and Pixoh (renamed Snipshot).
