The MySpace Developer Platform continues to add features to allow applications to be more viral (or, annoying depending on your point of view), the latest of which is all too familiar to many Facebook users: application invite notifications. The application invites show up in a new folder within MySpace user inboxes (shown above) called “Notifications.”
While the thought of more application invites might make you cringe, MySpace has taken a number of steps to attempt to keep application spam at bay. The social network’s developer guidelines include restrictions against “incentivizing invitations, tricking users, or auto inviting.”
