MySpace announced today that it will be providing the Multi-State Attorney General Executive Committee information regarding registered sex offenders that its joint effort with Sentinel SAFE have identified.

This cooperation with the attorneys general is in part what they had requested, as a way to gain a comprehensive look at the way MySpace collects and handles information for registered sex offenders. The information released to the law enforcement entities will be used for their criminal investigations and probation or parole proceedings. The lines of communication between MySpace and attorneys general have also been developed for expedition. MySpace has had little choice but to be cooperative with law enforcement and government officials, which initially produced the partnership with Sentinel and has brought about additional measures for ensuring child safety on the site. Its actions taken never quite seem to be enough, though.
