Credit card companies are known for paying high referral fees, and MySpace, with tens of millions of members, should be able to drive plenty of registrations for the “Citi Forward by MySpace” card. It’s a bit more than MySpace simply slapping their name on a credit card though, and a surprisingly good idea.
For example, the cards’ rewards program will feature MySpace-specific items, like free downloads from MySpace Music and access to concerts and movie premieres. Additionally, the companies allude to an opportunity for members to earn rewards through charitable work, writing in a statement that members will have an “opportunity to earn additional ThankYou Points for completing socially responsible acts donating to a local food drive, going paperless, switching to energy efficient light bulbs, volunteering and more.”
