MySpace is big on social connectivity and music and plenty of photos and videos. Not so much the news, however. The company want to change that. This week the News Corp-owned megasite announced content deals with NBC News and MSNBC.com to deliver stories pertaining to politics and other issues of the day to its users, which some say number some 200-million-plus worldwide.
The details of the new arrangement are quite straightfoward. As has been reported by Paul Gough of Reuters, news culled from NBC and MSNBC, which will include text and video clips, will inhabit the section of the netework dubbed Decision ’08. Pieces of content of gathered from television programs headlined by names like Brian Williams, Tim Russert and Chris Matthews will be published on the page.
