MySpace has been staying on top of its political game through its Impact Channel, giving the users on this youth-oriented site a direct way in which to participate in the political scene. One of the more prominent ways in which MySpace is doing this is through the Impact Presidential Poll, which is a series of polls conducted through the MySpace community, currently taking place and leading up to the 2008 presidential elections.
According to the MySpace Impact Presidential Poll for this month, Obama has a huge lead over Clinton in Ohio (61% vs. 39%), while Clinton has a slight lead over Obama in Texas (51% vs. 46%). On the Republican end, Huckabee is closely following McCain in Texas (35% vs. 38%), though McCain has a larger lead over Huckabee in Ohio (53% vs. 23%). So I'm sure you're all dying to know: if the presidential election were held today, and MySpace was the definitive polling booth, the vote would go accordingly:
o Hillary Clinton (49%) vs. Mike Huckabee (36%)
o Hillary Clinton (46%) vs. John McCain (38%)
o Barack Obama (60%) vs. Mike Huckabee (29%)
