As of this morning, MySpace has begun promoting the French version of the site - MySpace France - on its homepage. As it turns out, the site went live last week, and it's currently in beta. However, advertising on MySpace.com seems pretty pointless, since visitors from outside France are just redirected to the US version, and clicking the banner takes you to MySpace help. For those who can gain access, you should find it at fr.myspace.com.

MySpace announced its international expansion back in June, revealing that France and Germany would be the first targets - China and India were also under consideration. The UK version launched in April 2006, but as we saw today, MySpace has been usurped by Bebo in the UK market, with the launch of Bebo Bands giving the company a huge boost.

MySpace also has international sites in Ireland and Australia, but it looks like the French version is yet to be rolled out formally. If you're in France and you want to give it a spin, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.
