MySpace pages were hijacked over the weekend by a Flash redirect - users who are signed into MySpace and visit a compromised page will be redirected to a blog post claiming that the United States government was behind the 9/11 attacks. What's more, the visitor's page is also hijacked, leading to a massive snowball effect. The blog post in question currently has more than 6000 comments, suggesting that the hack has had a fairly substantial impact. The Flash file itself is hosted with Photobucket.

There is, however, a fix. Affected users need to edit their MySpace pages and remove the following code (I've added some extra y's):

yyembed allowscriptaccess="never" src=

"yyhttp://i105.photobucket.com

/albums/mff225/yrkblack/redirect.swf"
