The news is already impacting Mixi, Japan's biggest social network, which took a hit on the Tokyo Stock Exchange today: shares fell 5 percent to 2.14 million yen due to concerns that MySpace will steal their users. Mixi's IPO was in September, and the future looked bright; now they have a major competitor to deal with.
I noticed a frivolous change, too: Tom's Japanese obviously wasn't up to scratch, so MySpace have brought in "Ozzie" to be site's front man in Japan. He's supposedly working alongside Tom, helping to make MySpace cool among the Japanese youth.

Update: Yep, looks like this went live today. They only deployed the Japanese logo a few minutes ago, and the French ads are still there - it's very much a beta product.
