MySpace is opening an office in San Francisco, as several companies are now beginning to do. There haven't been many details released, other than the launch party is supposed to be at the San Francisco Modern Museum of Art, on October 17th. Any ideas on why MySpace is opening an office in San Fran?

As Wikimedia is also making the same move in order to be closer to it's Asian market, this could be the case for MySpace as well, though MySpace already had a presence on the west coast of the country whereas Wikimedia is moving all the way from Florida. With the social network looking to open its platform to developers in a similar manner to Facebook, it could be opening a new office for all the new talent it will need in order to not have a platform riddled with errors on launch day.

Whatever the case may be, the launch party is sure to be a good one, especially if Murdoch shows up.
