MySpace is plowing on with its cooperative effort to discover sex offenders on its social networking site.

More than 29,000 registered sex offenders have been found to have created profiles on MySpace, which quadruples the number of sex offenders that was stated in reports regarding this situation a couple of months ago. This all comes from law enforcement offocials in North Carolina, that initially requested the information from MySpace. While MySpace has been largely cooperative with the state of North Carolina, the ultimate goal of law enforcement officials (not limited to North Carolina) is to implement some sort of parental control or age verification system for the registration process.

Sex offenders found in Texas with MySpace profiles have been arrested, while 300 MySpace sex offenders have been discovered in Kansas.
