It's no secret that MySpace wants to get ahead of YouTube in web video, and Fox Interactive Media President Peter Levinsohn has a plan, of sorts: he says the company is in "active negotiations with all of the media companies to create the most robust video offering from professional content on the web.” In short: calling up all the media companies and offering them better deals than GoogTube.
He refused to refer to it as the cliched "YouTube killer", even though a journalist pushed him on the question when he spoke at the Bear Stearns confab in Palm Beach, Fla. He added that they'd build out a portal, offering the chance for "a number of the media companies to get together", according to Variety.
