Nasdaq Halts Trading Because of Technical Glitch

UPDATE: The Nasdaq resumed trading at 3:25 p.m. ET, more than three hours after trading was halted.

Trading for securities listed on the Nasdaq were halted Thursday afternoon because of a technical glitch.

The Nasdaq OMX Group announced the move at 12:15 p.m. ET Thursday. Other exchanges also halted trading after the announcement.

Nasdaq includes tech stocks like Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo and Intel.

Nasdaq technical errors also plagued Facebook's 2012 IPO. The exchange was later fined $10 million for its negligence.
