The network Wednesday announced that Tyson will starting in April helm a late-night talk show based on his Star Talk podcast.

Star Talk will, said the host, act as a bridge between the worlds of science and pop culture and feature guests from both worlds.

The show will be taped in front of an audience at the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium, where Tyson serves as director.

Just last year, Tyson's Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, a project on which he collaborated with Family Guy creator and executive producer Seth MacFarlane, attracted an audience of 135 million after airing simultaneously across 10 different 21st Century Fox networks. It later also won an Emmy Award.
