November is National Novel Writing Month, and people are buckling down to bust out some serious wordage. But like anything difficult, conditions have to be pretty ideal to get the job done.

Do you have two different colors of sticky notes at hand? A cold Coke at 4 p.m.? A trio of cats to cuddle between chapters?

If not, burn the manuscript. We're done.
