Bloggers! Here Comes Navel Gaze Sunday

A trend: sometime every Saturday afternoon Eastern Time (now), tech bloggers run low on real news, and a story about bloggers themselves gets an unnecessary amount of airtime. On Sunday, it rises to a rabble before dying down as the Monday news starts coming in - call it Navel Gaze Sunday if you like (or circlejerk Sunday if you don't). A brief history of the past 3 Navel Gaze Sundays:

-July 1st, 2007: Bloggers get Sicko - Bloggers blog about the Google Health Blog, which is offering advertisers the chance to undo the damage caused by Michael Moore's movie Sicko. This story bubbles up on Saturday and becomes a din by Sunday. The Google blogger in question issues a reply on the Google Health Blog. Bloggers blog about the new blog post.

-June 24th, 2007: People Ready Blogging - Bloggers get accused of unethical behavior: this story begins on Friday, bubbles up on Saturday and becomes a din on Navel Gaze Sunday. Are bloggers blogging ethically?, the bloggers ask other bloggers on their blogs.

-June 17th, 2007: The Age Question - How old is too old to start a startup?, bloggers ask late on Saturday. Those outside the suggested age range get offended, blog about it. Everyone else blogs about them blogging about it. Original bloggers blog back.
