What happens to a high-five snubbed? Does it dry up, like a raisin in the sun? Or does it get completed, later, digitally, on Twitter?

Sacramento Kings teammates DeMarcus Cousins and Kosta Koufos took the latter route to hilarious effect, after a Vine of their failed mid-game handshake got passed around the basketball Internet.

Here's the fail in question. But it's not a total loss -- watch how smoothly Koufos changes course with the trusty ol' single-clap-and-finger-point after Cousins leaves him hanging in Wednesday night's win over the Detroit Pistons.

Hell of a rebound. One gets the feeling Koufos has been snubbed a time or two before. But fear not, dear reader -- this story has a positive ending.

Cousins circled back later that night to dap Koufos up digitally, complete with a #highfive hashtag:

@kostakoufos my bad bro for leaving u hanging #highfive— DeMarcus Cousins (@boogiecousins) November 12, 2015

To which Koufos replied:

@boogiecousins no worries bro! — Kosta Koufos (@kostakoufos) November 12, 2015

And they all lived happily ever after. See? There's hope for humanity yet.
